EARTH, 2030

Nothing much has changed in the past couple of decades. Technology is more advanced, of course; cities have expanded and the debate over whether Global Warming really exists is still going on. Life's show plays out as normal, nothing strange or startling.

The same goes for the Digital World. A world parallel to Earth, which humans have never even known about, in spite of them being the cause for its creation. Created from data lost from the human computers, mobile phones and other technology, it is the home to strange creatures named Digimon. It and the Earth stood in the same place in the universe, albeit in different dimensions - each oblivious to the other's existance.

Until now.

One ordinary day, a strange force caused the Digital World to be ripped out of its dimension and into ours, colliding into earth. However, two worlds could not hold the same place in space and time, so the two worlds fused together. As the worlds shook and computers went abolutely haywire, sea shifted to make way for new islands originally in the Digital World, trees and giant mushrooms suddenly grew from concrete pavements in human cities, cities made from metal sprouted in the middle of the Amazon, and, for the first time, humans and Digimon came face to face.

At first, people and Digimon alike didn't know how to react. This was especially true in an American city, Solari Park, which had collided with a Digimon city, Gateway Portal. However, the Human and Digimon mayors agreed that humans and Digimon should try to get along - after all, it didn't look as if anything would ever be the same again. Begrudingly, both species worked together to repair the city, now renamed Gateway Park, before things slowly began to settle back to normal. Shops re-opened and some Digimon decided to get jobs to help out their new fellow companions. However, neither species really liked the other, until one fateful day.

Two years on from the collision, a DarkTyrannomon was angered by a human, and he came rampaging into Gateway Portal, destroying the city as he went. However, the human bumped into a small Agumon who lived nearby and he had a small friendship with. The Agumon went out of his way to try and protect the human, but the Rookie was easily beaten. When thrown to the ground, the boy ran over to the Digimon and hugged him, hoping he'd stay alive, when the Agumon suddenly began to glow and transformed into a much bigger, more ferocious Digimon named Greymon, who easily defeated DarkTyrannomon. After the battle, the young human found that his mobile had changed into a strange device that looked like one of those really old virtual pet toys.

This boy was the first Digimon Tamer.

To protect the city in the future, the Government decided that having a lot of these humans and Digimon teaming up together would be useful, so developed a similar device called a D-Glitch Digivice with the help of some ancient Digimon. The "Ranger" Project was released soon after, allowing any human over the age of ten (after much protesting) and Digimon of Rookie level and up to sign up. Humans would be partnered with a Digimon thought compatible to them, and, after a month's training, would be awarded a D-Glitch. Adults were referred to as Rangers, but once younger people could join, they were referred to as Tamers. It has proved a huge success, with well over one hundred teams plus in the huge city. The government also added a new section of the Police force called the Digi-Police, skilled Rangers who tackle the most serious Digimon attacks and criminal plots. With its huge success, other governments around the world have taken on similar projects.

DIGITAL EARTH, 2035

It has been five years since the collision, and all has been going well. However, in recent months, there has been rumours of a small cell in the Digi-Police who have arrested perfectly innocent Tamers and Rangers with an unknown purpose, and wild, almost evil Digimon have been attacking the city at a great rate.

Darkness is falling... it's time for the revolution to begin.
